Outer Banks Brewfest Announces Entertainment Lineup; Limited Pre-Sale Tickets Available

Event producers for the inaugural OBX Brewfest have announced the entertainment lineup for the 2015 event which will take place at the Outer Banks Event Site in Nags Head, NC on May 31. The festival, produced by Hype Promotions and presented in partnership with the Outer Banks Visitors Bureau, will host three diverse bands from outside of the area featuring TAUK, People’s Blues of Richmond and The Mark Schimick String Band.

“With Brewfest benefiting the Dare County Arts Council, we really wanted to venture beyond the run-of-the-mill beer fest and make it more about experiencing the arts as a whole,” says Event Director, Kristi Geske of Hype Promotions. “We aim to support DCAC’s mission by featuring a plethora of culinary, mixed media, and performing arts. There was a good opportunity to bring some nationally touring acts to town on a weekend that’s historically slower for the rental companies and area businesses, and we jumped on it. My hope is that folks will come on out with open minds, ready to discover more than just tasty libations, but to also be inspired by the phenomenal music, unique food and beverages, and the art installations that will transform the site. It’s going to be a fun and truly educational event, and we can’t wait to show everyone what we’ve been up to!”

The 21 and over event will boast a wide array of educational panels, demos and workshops for patrons looking to learn more about craft beer culture, as well as an exciting field-day style game zone. Non-drinkers can also enjoy samples inside the Soda Garden, tasting their way through over 20 styles of handcrafted sodas. The lineup of participating breweries and the full schedule of events will be released in mid-February.

Tickets are currently on sale through the event’s Facebook page or via their website. The first 250 tickets are being sold at a discounted price of just $25 and include unlimited samplings as well as a commemorative tasting glass. Once the first tier sells out, advanced sale ticket prices will increase to $40 each.

Event partner, KEES Hospitality will be releasing lodging packages later this week which will be hosted on the event website.

Those looking to lend a hand may register through the Outer Banks Volunteer Network. Volunteers will receive an event t-shirt as well as the opportunity to enjoy the event whichever shift they are not working – samples included.
