Are you ready to BLAM?! Roo Clues Recap

Bonnaroovians everywhere are finding it harder not to think about the four glorious days they will spend on the farm this sumer. Last month, Bonnaroo teased us with some of the line-up in the form of Roo Clues almost a month earlier than they have in the past. With most fests releasing their line-up’s early this year, Bonnaroo must have been feeling pressure to do the same. The festivals official website was updated and introduced this years theme. Today, the Bonnarro Line-up Announcement Megathon (BLAM!) will be taking place at 6 PM.  In anticipation of the line-up tonight, we’ve gathered what we know about who will be playing Roo based on the Roo Clues. If you have been avoiding confirmations, you can rest assure knowing that this article is SPOILER FREE.

Roo Clue #1

This was the first clue that was released on December 12th. The consensus for it on most social media is the indie band Glass Animals. Glass Animals  is a band from Oxford that consists of Dave Bayley, Drew MacFarlane, Edmund Irwin-Singer, Joe Seaward. Their last album “Zaba” was released in June of 2014.

 


Roo Clue #2

The second Roo Clue was released on December 13th. They started releasing an accompanying clue on Radio Roo with this clue which is “Welcome to Springfield”. Some have speculated that it is Modest Mouse because of their song “Blame It On The Tetons” since this is Buck Mountain located in Grand Teton National Park. Another name dropped was Childish Gambino because he recently released a mixtape titled “STN MTN”. Yonder Mountain String Band seems to match this clue best. They were at Bonnaroo in 2014 which explains the lunchbox in this clue and they host an annual fest in Springfield.

Roo Clue #3

The third Roo Clue, posted on December 14th, was accompanied by the Radio Roo clue “Race car.” In the SnapChat video that Bonnaroo posted, “The Little Drummer Boy” was playing which lead a lot of people to believe it’s Ringo Star. Ringo also wrote the Beatles song “Octopus’ Garden.” Others speculated that it could be Dale Earnhardt Jr Jr since  the octopus has 8 tentacles. Dale Earnhardt Jr drove racecar #8 which connects with the Roo Clue.  Blink 182 could be another possibility. Mark Hoppus used an octopus on his T-shirt line, Travis Barker was in a band called Box Car Racer. Deadmau5 was confirmed by the insider on Inforoo recently. This clue could be Mr. Joel Zimmerman since he has a song called Call of Cthulhu and Infra Turbo Pig Car. He also owns several race cars.

Roo Clue #4

The fourth clue was released on 12/15. The Radio Roo clue is “Open Wide.” The consensus for this clue is New Albany’s alternative country band Houndmouth.

Roo Clue #5

The fifth Roo Clue was released on 12/16 with the Radio Roo clue “Billy Mays approved.” Bleachers was confirmed by Bonnaroo’s Snapchat!

Roo Clue #6

The sixth Roo Clue was released on 12/17 with the Radio Roo clue “Bucket List.” Most people believe that this Long Island Iced Tea hints at a possible re-union of Long Island, NY’s A Tribe Called Quest. Three straws, three members. Others speculate that it could be the John Mayer Trio since the theme song for the movie Bucket List was by John Mayer.

Roo Clue #7

The seventh Roo Clue was released on 12/18 with the accompanying Radio Roo clue “Watch out at midnight.” We definitely believe that this is Trampled By Turtles. They have a song called “Midnight On the Interstate”

Roo Clue #8

The eigth Roo Clue was released on 12/19 with the Radio Roo clue “Getting back to our roots.” Flume is one of the top answers for this clue. One connection to the Roo Clue is the fact that he’s from Australia, “the land down under. ” Kenny Loggins is speculated as well.

Roo Clue #9

The ninth Roo clue was released on 12/20 with the Radio Roo clue “Dont be afraid of what you see.” This is a picture of Nancy Reagan and Radio Roo’s clue is a direct quote from Ronald Reagan’s farewell address. Nancy Reagan started the “Just Say No” movement in the war on drugs. Bonnaroo has confirmed that this clue is The War On Drugs via their Snapchat.

Roo Clue #10

The tenth Roo Clue was released on 12/21 with the Radio Roo clue “Looks like someone needs a bath.” Death Cab For Cutie seems to be the consensus for this clue. They have a new album titled “Kintsugi ” coming out sometime this year.

Roo Clue #11

The eleventh Roo Clue was released on 12/22 with the Radio Roo clue Ariel’s trusty advisor.” The clue is a photo of Sylvia Plath who’s two biggest stories were Bell Jar and Ariel. Bell Jar could just be Bell and Ariel relates to the Little Mermaid. Ariels trusty advisor was Sebastian. This clue is Belle & Sebastian, it was confirmed by Bonnaroo via SnapChat.

Roo Clue #12

The final Roo Clue was posted on 12/23 with the Radio Roo clue “My coworker has been spending time in the garden.” The consensus for this clue is Robert Plant. There is a lot of speculation about Robert Plant possibly having a Super Jam. Whatever his involvement on the farm may be, we welcome him with open arms!
