Zodiac Vodka Launch Party Brings Good Drinks, Good Music, and Good Fun to Nashville

Tuesday night, Zodiac Vodka toasted their Tennessee debut from the swanky third-floor loft of Nashville favorite ACME Feed and Seed, and the event was an awesome way to score free drinks and enjoy good music. Official Zodiac Vodka brand ambassador and country music star Kacey Musgraves was in attendance as well, perfectly merging a familiar face with a hot new product.

In additional to Mugraves, Misa Arriaga and Scott Quintana (her bandmates), Zodiac’s CEO Dan Liguori, and Zodiac founder Tom Benson also attended the event. Musgraves was enthusiastic in her endorsement of Zodiac, stating “I’m super excited to be a part of the Zodiac family. It’s a Texas company, and I’m a Texas girl, so it was a natural fit — when I first tried the vodka, I loved it and knew I wanted to be a part of it. It’s really cool that it is gluten free; I love that it is a healthier alternative and it tastes great. Make sure you visit your local retailer to buy a bottle, and if they don’t have it, tell them to get it!” Zodiac, produced and bottled in Rigby, Idaho, may also be found in Texas, California, Tennessee, South Carolina, Kentucky, Maryland and Florida, so its addition to the Tennessee market is exciting for vodka lovers in the state.

In addition to music and mingling, Zodiac Vodka also hosted a cocktail contest among six local bars, with both the attendees as well as Musgraves voting for their favorites from among the following Nashville area bars:

  • ACME Feed and Seed’s “Grandpa’s Ole Medicine” by Josh Whitfield – Zodiac Vodka, rosemary, pomegranate, cucumber
  • Old Glory’s “Can’t We Elope” by Alexis Soler – Zodiac Vodka, fresh cantaloupe, dill, lime, black pepper, absinthe
  • The Crying Wolf’s “El Touro” by Daniel Ness – Zodiac Vodka, grapefruit, homemade green pepper and honey syrup
  • Bob’s Steak & Chop House’s “Purple Soul” by Fabiano Santos – Zodiac Vodka, cherries, mint
  • The Southern Steak & Oyster’s “Good Morning, Good Night” by Joe Henley – Zodiac Vodka, blueberry compote, honey, lavender bitters
  • No. 308’s “Hogs & Kisses” by Britt Soler – Zodiac Vodka, chili liquor, coffee, mint

My personal favorite and the winner of my personal vote was “Purple Soul,” with “Hogs and Kisses” coming in a close second. The crowd and judges crowned “Can’t We Elope” as the winner, with the bar getting a $500 prize for their creation. Four attendees were also chosen at random to win gift cards.

Zodiac went over very well with the event attendees, with the bar lines stretching far back and the crowd sampling and even re-sampling their personal favorites. Appetizers were also served courtesy of ACME, with mini chicken and beef biscuits being passed around, inspired by Musgraves’ song “Biscuits.”

Two of my favorite things are good drinks and music, so putting the two together in my favorite city was a win-win and a great way to unwind on a Tuesday night. I also used to live mere minutes from Zodiac’s distillery in Idaho, so sampling vodka from my former home was a nice nostalgia trip. Zodiac will be hitting other markets in the US by the end of the year, including our nation’s capital, Arizona, and Iowa, so keep an eye on the liquor store shelves for an excellent new alcohol. Zodiac is available in original and black cherry and prides itself on being gluten-free and non-GMO as well.
