Sleep? We don’t need no stinkin’ sleep! The Hulaween schedule is out!

They only come out at night, we were told back in 1972. That was then; this is now. The ghosts, ghoulies and goblins will be on stage all day and night (practically) at this year’s Suwannee Hulaween, and it’s time to grab the schedule (and your walking shoes) so you can map out the route to your favorite music.

Hulaween’s massive schedule, courtesy of Silver Wrapper and Purple Hat Productions, boasts 65 sets over the four-day event at the Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park (Live Oak FL), not counting another dozen Silent Disco slots. Seven of those sets belong to your hosts, The String Cheese Incident (two Friday, two Sunday and a mind-bending four hours on Halloween Saturday spread over three sets).

The Pre-Party on Thursday is about the only chance you’ll get to sit tight, with all five sets at the Amphitheater Stage. Music begins at 3 PM with two of Florida’s outstanding bands, Leisure Chief and Herd of Watts, getting the weekend started off properly. Then SCI makes an early partial appearance by way of EOTO (Michael Travis and Jason Hann): improvised electronic music at its best. Dumpstaphunk’s double-bass attack follows, followed by a great long set from Joe Russo’s Almost Dead.

Thurs-Fri-Hulaween-Schedule

Friday? Now you’ve got your work cut out for you. The Campground Stage highlights many of Florida’s excellent bands all weekend long. Twenty-two overlapping sets (not counting the two by SCI) include Railroad Earth, Primus, The Nth Power, Dopapod, The Polish Ambassador and so much more. Music will be on the Main Stage and the Spirit Lake Stage in addition to the Amphitheatre and Campground venues.

One of the most important things to consider in your scheduling is to be sure to check out some groups you’ve never seen before and some you’ve never even heard of before. Because more than a few of them will blow you away!

And the Silent Disco both nights features music from 2 AM to 5 AM, with two channels during each hour. You don’t need to sleep until later in November anyway!

Saturday-Hulaween-Schedule

Halloween is bonkers again. The Sam Bush Band, The New Mastersounds, Chance the Rapper & the Social Experiment and Slightly Stoopid certainly draw early attention, but again the day is jam-packed with excitement. And if any band was made for Halloween, it is The Bath Salt Zombies, who embody the Halloween spirit every time they play.

Sunday-Hulaween-Schedule

Sunday, you can relax… a little bit. Only 15 sets, with music from Elephant Revival, Manic Science, The Heavy Pets, Lettuce, TAUK, STS9 and more.

is it halloween yet

So get out those highlighters and get at it. This might also be a good time to buy some stock in Monster, 5-Hour Energy, Red Bull and some coffee conglomerates.

Because you’re going to need it!
