Hulaween: T-Minus 10 Days to Music, Costumes, and the Best Damn Halloween Party in the Southeast!
It’s coming. Can you feel it? The air is cooling down (even here in Florida!), jack-o-lanterns, witches and ghosts are adorning lawns, and coffee bistros are slinging pumpkin everything, which can mean only one thing: HALLOWEEN IS RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER! And for those making the pilgrimage to the Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park next week, it also means Suwannee Hulaween. It’s getting close. Are you excited?
This year’s installment of the annual bash is bringing a whole slew of awesomeness:
Halloween is on a Saturday this year. Party will ensue.
SOSMP is known for hosting some of the best jam bands and Southeastern acts you can find at multiple festivals throughout the year at the park. However, they seem to be trying something a little bit different with Hulaween this year. Welcoming acts such as Pretty Lights, Odesza, Chance the Rapper, Griz, and STS9, they seem to be shooting for a wider audience. That’s not to say that it is lacking its signature sound by any means. We also get The String Cheese Incident EVERY SINGLE NIGHT, Primus, Lettuce, Papadosio, and many others. See the full lineup here.
The schedule is also amazing. If you haven’t seen it, you can check it out here, but basically we get to kick off the weekend with a pre-party featuring EOTO, Dumpstaphunk, and Joe Russo’s Almost Dead, among others for the early crowd. But the party REALLY gets going Friday, and we get to start it off right with The Hip Abduction, The Polish Ambassador, TWO sets by The String Cheese Incident, Dopapod, Primus, and Pretty Lights is ringing in Halloween for us with a late-night set on Friday night (early Saturday morning!).
Saturday is just as good, and freak flags will be flying this Halloween as we embrace the “Ghoul Train” theme. We will enjoy sets from Flat Land, Come Back Alice, Slightly Stoopid, Odesza, Chance the Rapper, and THREE sets from String Cheese, among other shenanigans!
You didn’t think we were done, did you? We hope you took Monday off, too, because Sunday brings just as much of the fun. Griz, Lettuce, Holey Miss Moley, and a closing sets from Tauk and STS9 (oh, and two more String Cheese sets). What are you doing for Halloween next week? Is it this awesome? Probably not, but it’s not too late and tickets are still on sale!
