AURA Daily Schedule is Here! Get Ready for Some Stage-Hopping!

The Aura Music and Arts Festival has just released its daily schedule for the three-day event March 3-5 at the Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park. Time to get your clone out of mothballs; you’re going to need it.

The schedule is logical in its setup. The primary acts have sets on the Amphitheater Stage, and in between there are two bands playing at the same time, one on the Porch Stage, the other in the Vibe Tent. There will also be DJs spinning in the Eno Lotus Lounge on Friday and Saturday and all three nights at Silent Disco.

Lucky Costello, an excellent funk band from Jacksonville, kicks off Thursday’s festivities at 3:45; DO NOT MISS their go-go dancer! Greenhouse Lounge plays their last set before going on hiatus, and Pink Talking Fish and The Werks close out the night at the amphitheater.

Conflicts? You and your clone sort this stuff out. Jimkata and Fusik. The Fritz and Third Nature. Do you catch half a set of each, or just pick one?

Friday gets tougher. On the main stage, Thievery Corporation headlines. The New Deal have not been to Florida since that frigid 2010 Bear Creek. The conflicts? Turkuaz vs. Bedside (live band). Particle vs. Nunchuck! And, for me, the WORST conflict of all: Mike Dillon Band vs. Backup Planet.

One more tough on Friday at Silent Disco: on channel 1: Vlad the Inhaler vs. Matthew Connor, on channel 2: Telekinetic Walrus. Either way, your brain will melt into a puddle along with your face.

Saturday at the amphitheater is a grand slam, with The Disco Biscuits, Snarky Puppy, The Heavy Pets’ Tribute to the ‘80s, and Bright Light Social Hour. On to the head-to-head match-ups: Displace vs. Garrin Benfield, The Resolvers vs. Broccoli Samurai, the Main Squeeze vs. Aqueous, and, topping the list, Tom Hamilton’s American Babies vs. Pigeons Playing Ping Pong. Oh, the humanity!

The good news? You’ve got five weeks to play mental ping pong with yourself concerning the schedule.

One other really nice aspect of the schedule: every band has at least a 75-minute set if not more. Bravo, AURA!
