Roosevelt Collier’s Suwannee Getdown #4: DJs Rise to Power!

rc sg bannerBands, band, bands! Is that all you ever write about?

Well, yes, that’s it, mostly. But not entirely.

For instance, the fourth round of Roosevelt Collier’s Suwannee Getdowns takes place this Friday and Saturday (February 5-6) at the Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park in Live Oak FL. And, yes, our initial announcement was mostly about the bands.

Did you want to hear about Disc Golf? Because I am NOT the person to ask.

How about the DJs? Because the Suwannee Getdown is loaded with some of the best talent you’ll hear anywhere. DJs have been an integral part of the Silent Discos and DJ lounges at Bear Creek, Purple Hatter’s, Disc Jams, the first three Suwannee Getdowns, and the inaugural Reunion: Campout Concert Series event.

At the Reunion and at the first Roosevelt events, two gentlemen in particular have kept heads nodding and busted their behinds from an organizational standpoint. These two talented individuals are Vladimir Kulishevskiy (Vlad the Inhaler) and Matthew Connor. Sometimes they spin individually, sometimes together (you can check out Vlad vs. Matthew on one channel at AURA’s Silent Disco).

Vlad is a host at the park, one of the creators of the Reunion event, and event planner at 1904 Music Hall in Jacksonville. Matthew is the founder of Bangarang Events, also in Jacksonville.

Sir Charles has also entertained at a number of these events. He threw down a great set at the beach during the Reunion event (that was special).

And then we have four new entries ready to keep you moving all weekend long: Zachy Nix, Cry Havoc, Bit Deff and Booty Boo. We will let each show you what’s up, but a special word about Booty Boo, and Vlad, from Roosevelt:

“Our dear friends Vladamir Kulishevskiy (a.k.a. Vlad The Inhaler) and Megan Henderson (a.k.a. Booty Boo) are making this event their engagement party and bringing a bunch of their friends to play music and a second stage. Nothing like an engagement party to amp the vibe and reinforce the love and community we share with each other at Suwannee.”

That’s what’s up!
