Coney Island Has a Brand New Boardwalk Venue!
When you think of Coney Island, usually you think of hot dogs, carnival rides and the wonderfully outlandish mermaid parade. It’s a place I grew up going to with my family for a day of fun during the summer. This summer, however, an entire new dynamic is coming to the NYC beach town: a state-of-the-art amphitheater right on the boardwalk that will host a plethora of amazing acts from June to September. This is bound to open an entire new population to Coney Island, a neighborhood that has been introducing a lot of new and exciting draws as they bounce back from Hurricane Sandy. The initial lineup looks amazing, with acts such as Ziggy Marley, The Beach Boys, Jane’s Addiction, Matisyahu, Darkstar Orchestra, Frank Turner and The Disco Biscuits on the bill already; it’s hard to imagine this venue not becoming a top summer concert destination.
