Great South Bay Celebrates 10 Years With an Incredible Lineup

Shorefront Park sits at the edge of the quaint town of Patchogue, overlooking the Great South Bay of Long Island. The normally quiet neighborhood opens its doors to the Great South Bay Music Festival every year and welcomes hundreds of concertgoers for four days. This year the festival is celebrating its tenth anniversary, and they’ve put together one of their best lineups yet. Thursday will feature Minus The Bear, Manchester Orchestra and Third Eye Blind, bands that stray from the festival’s typical genre but are guaranteed to get the crowd feeling nostalgic of the alternative scene that once thrived on Long Island. Friday’s highlights include Kerry Kearney, JT Hodges, Lonestar, Jamey Johnson, Savoy Brown ft. Kim Simmonds and Joey Nichols, a lineup that will definitely please the older heads who have been coming to the festival since its inception. Saturday is definitely the highlight with sets from Space Carnival, Funkin’ A, The Main Squeeze, Dopapod, Blues Traveler and Umphrey’s McGee. Sunday features Memphis Crawl, Electrix, Aztec Two Step, John Sebastian, NRBQ, Colin Hay, Railroad Earth and Graham Nash. All in all, this lineup has something for everyone. Apart from the music, there are lots of activities for attendees to partake including a large craft village, expansive beer garden sponsored by Long Island favorite Blue Point, and a fantastic Kidzone that has everything to keep your little ones happy and entertained throughout the weekend, and don’t forget the great opportunity to catch one of those famous Long Island summer sunsets! You can check out the full lineup and grab your tickets on the festivals website.
