Run the Jewels “return from the depth of the Badlands” with the release of the first track from their upcoming album RTJ3. “Talk to Me” is an absolutely ferocious song that takes on issues of racial and social injustice, something that Killer Mike and El-P have never had a problem doing. The duo packs a politically-charged, rapid firestorm from start to finish.

Killer Mike and El-P, with a little help from Zack de la Rocha, exploded onto the scene in 2014 after the release of “Close Your Eyes (And Count to F**k).” The song from their second album, Run the Jewels 2, speaks directly and mercilessly to the unbridled issues of racism, inequality and police brutality. Run the Jewels came out swinging at a crucial time for America and they continue to stoke the impassioned fire that fueled “Close Your Eyes.”

“Talk to Me” specifically calls out the #AllLivesMatter movement and refers to a certain someone who “wore a bad toupee and a spray tan.” Killer Mike spits the amusing insult in verse one, getting his contempt for Trump across right off the bat. Surely it’s no accident that the track dropped just in time for Election Day. Killer Mike has been very vocal about his support for Bernie Sanders and spent a good portion of 2016 advocating for the former presidential hopeful. Sanders may be out of the race, but the rapper continues to speak his mind loudly and encourage fans to do the same.

An official release date for RTJ3 has not been announced. But with “Talk to Me” quickly making its rounds on the internet, we’re guessing it won’t be long.
