Big Something Getting Bigger In 2017

Big Something, the North Carolina-based funk/jazz fusion band, is gearing up for a big 2017: Jam Cruise, album release parties and tours on their own as well as with Umphrey’s McGee.

Starting in January, they will be playing several sets on the always amazing Jam Cruise (2:15 am-3:30 am Friday Morning on the Pool Deck as well as 11:45 pm-1:15 am Tuesday night in the Spinnaker Lounge). After Jam Cruise they will be touring heavily in anticipation of their upcoming album release, Tumbleweed.

The official CD release party will be on February 24th and 25th in Greensboro, NC, at The Blind Tiger.

A brand new single from the album was just released today through Glide Magazine. Read all about it here: “Passenger” World Premiere Release.

The band has made a name for themselves having already released three previous studio albums as well as hitting the festival circuit hard.

Big Something is a six-piece band that combines guitars, horns, keyboards and drums into a unique blend of jam, electronic, funk and rock, all anchored by Nick MacDaniels’ guitar and vocals.

One very noticeable feature of the band is saxophone player Casey Cranford, who will frequently pull out the EWI. It’s the electronic stick (electronic wind intrument) he can be seeing playing on stage. It allows for the versatility of a wind instrument but with the flexibility of electronic music.

Big Something has already released the title track from Tumbleweed to YouTube:
