Fool’s Paradise 2017 – Florida Bands, VIP Ticket Contest, Festival Poster and More!

Fool’s Paradise 2017 is just over a week away! There is going to be so much going on it’s going to get a little crazy. This festival taking place March 31st and April 1st in St. Augustine along Florida’s East Coast is packing in something for everyone. Everything from Artist Excursions, such as a chance to play miniature golf with Jesus Coombs from Lettuce, to late-night sets offering super groups combining members from nearly every headliner band to Pre-Parties featuring local Florida-based bands. That’s not even starting in with things like the VIP Happy Hour activities, camping in a state park or just the general joy that comes from being there when Lettuce crushes a set at the amphitheater along with a few thousand of your newest friends.

Fool's Paradise Official Poster

First things first – the contest! Fool’s Paradise has released the artwork for their official and very limited event poster, and it is gorgeous! Designed by artist AJ Masthay, it will be on sale for $40 while supplies last. Do not wait on this at all, as it will sell out very quickly. Note that all VIP Ticket Holders will receive a free poster along with a T-Shirt, priority access to the pit, reserved seating, exclusive happy artist happy hour and discounted beverages (Seriously, just get VIP tickets. You won’t regret it at all). FoolsSchedule

Friday March 31st – Arrive early in the day and get yourself settled at your campsite, hotel room or wherever you plan to stay. It’s Florida in March so it will be warm but fantastic. This is, after all, where people come for vacation year-round. The music will start at 3:30 with Organ Freeman. Then Manic Science will go on at 5 pm. After that, prepare to get crushed by Lettuce from 6:30-8:00 pm. Finally, Joe Russo’s Almost Dead will go 8:30-10:15 and will almost assuredly have some great surprises in store such as Oteil Burbridge sitting in with them all night. As the amphitheater is part of a State Park, there is a noise ordinance which requires the music to end by 10:30 pm. However, that doesn’t mean things stop. Head literally just across the street to The Elk’s Lodge for the After Party, which for Friday night will have sets from Jaw Gems, Eric Krasno Band and the Infinity Jam hosted by Krasno and Oteil Burbridge. After all that grab a couple hours of sleep if you can and then get ready for Saturday. Do note that the After-Parties do require a separate ticket from your festival ticket.

Saturday April 1st – today starts early with the Artist Excursions. First up is the Shady Horns at Sea which will board at 12 noon sharp. If you choose Putt-Putt with Jesus, Antwaun & Lyle you won’t start until 1pm. The same goes for the Ping Pong Tournament which also starts at 1pm.

If you for some reason are choosing not to partake in any of the Excursions (But why wouldn’t you??), there will be music starting at 1pm at the Elk’s Lodge.  This pre-party music is included with your festival ticket so there’s no reason not to head on over there. Starting at 1 pm is Ajeva followed by The Groove Orient at 2 pm and finally Ben Strok and the Full Electric (formerly Herd Of Watts) at 3 pm. This will be Ajeva’s first year playing at Fool’s, and they are excited to bring their brand of high-energy funk to the masses in St. Augustine. Word has it to be prepared for some awesome collaborations among themselves, The Groove Orient and Ben Strok.

Once this wraps up, head right back over to the Amphitheater for The Main Squeeze kicking off the main stage at 3:45. Next up will be The Motet at 5:15. The Floozies will rage through a set from 6:45-8 pm and then Lettuce will play their second set to wrap up the Amphitheater from 8:30-10:15 pm.

AfterParties
Once the Amphitheater wraps up, it’s back over to The Elk’s for a second night of After-Parties. Saturday will bring sets from Fools For Funk (Members of Lettuce, Dumpstaphunk and more) as well as Dumpstaphunk proper. Like Friday night, these After Parties are a separate ticket from your Festival Ticket.

There is so much to experience in the to days of Fool’s Paradise. It’s a unique festival in a gorgeous setting in one of the best states to be in this time of year. Get yourself to St. Augustine Florida and find out for yourself.
