The two big additions at the top of the list are Dumpstaphunk and ZOOGMA. Dumpstaphunk is a five-man wrecking crew, very efficient at tearing the roof off the sucker. This New Orleans group features Ivan Neville, keyboards, guitar and vocals; Ian Neville, guitar and vocals; Tony Hall, bass, guitar and vocals; Nick Daniels, bass and vocals; and Alvin Ford, Jr., drums. They’ve played every major festival at SoSMP and are a very welcome addition to the lineup.

So too are ZOOGMA, who last played at the park in 2015 for Reunion: Campout Concert Series, crushed that show and every time they played Bear Creek and AURA. They call both Atlanta and Nashville home. They are Brock Bowling, guitar, live sequencing; Matt Harris, drums, live sequencing; Justin Hasting, guitar, synthesizer; Ryan Nall, bass, synthesizer. Perhaps you’re familiar with their calling card: WTF is ZOOGMA? You’ll find out!

Blackwater Grease is a new band with some familiar faces, including Greg Sears and two former members of S.P.O.R.E., Joe Knoebel and Steve Honig. That should be hot. Add to that DJs NickFRESH, Post.Modem, Booty Boo, Jeff Randall and Ion Zide, and the party is ON!

Thursday’s pre-party will feature the Disc golf man, Zach Deputy, along with DubConscious (Rachel’s favorite band), Bells & Robes, and Blackwater Grease. That will be a blast.

In our article linked above, we explain again about the genesis of the Purple Hatter’s Ball, which is the story of Rachel Morningstar Hoffman. We now find out that she aspired to be a chef. In keeping with that thought, there will be a culinary component to this year’s festivities.

Mark you calendars now, and don’t miss the pre-party! MusicFestNews will see you there!
