Artist On The Rise: The Other Brothers

Founded in 2012 in New Paltz, NY – The Other Brothers have found their way to becoming one of Upstate NY’s most talked-about performances. From blues, to funk and back down to a ballad, this 6 piece band equip with a percussion section will take you through the full spectrum of emotion in a nights work. We had the chance to  catch up with the unique sextet as they opened for Vulfpeck’s Theo Katzman in Port Chester, NY at Garcia’s and they did not disappoint. The band packed the lengthy bar on a Wednesday and put fans in awe with their talents. When asked what makes The Other Brothers different frontman Chris Owens replied “What makes us special is the diversity of our songs. We’ll make you laugh, cry, dance and sing all at the same time. We like to switch things up.” – and switch things up they did. Headlining act Theo Katzman stamped his seal of approval as he joined The Other Brothers for their last song of the night and brought Vulfpeck bassist Joe Dart as they performed Stevie Wonder’s classic “Boogie on Reggae Woman”
