All of the Highlights of the High Sierra Music Festival Schedule

With three stages plus the Music Hall during the day and four different venues for late-night shows, you’ll need your runnin’ shoes at High Sierra Music Festival this weekend. The three main stages — Grandstand, Big Meadow, and Vaudeville Tent — are slammed during the day, and there are numerous great workshops in the High Sierra Music Hall. At night, in addition to the Vaudeville Tent and Music Hall, there are great collectives playing in The Funk’n Jamhouse and The Mineral House.

Fortunately, because many of the artists are playing twice, you can actually hear almost everybody, provided you have the stamina and the appropriate footwear!

THURSDAY

Tank and the Bangas kick off the party in style, and the full day of music includes Fruition, STS9, Galactic, The Nth Power, BIG Something, White Denim, and Afrolicious.

Late-night parties include The Werks, Dopapod, and Grateful Ball with The Travelin’ McCourys and Jeff Austin.

FRIDAY

Ween, The Record Company, Mike Gordon, Billy Strings, The Hard Working Americans, The Travelin’ McCourys, and Con Brio are just some of the day’s great lineup. There is also a Stanton Moore Master Drum Class, and Earth, Wind, and Power will combine The Nth Power with Trey’s horns (with Natalie Cressman and Jennifer Hartswick) plus Rashawn Ross, High Sierra artist at large Skerik, and more.

Deer Tick and Phutureprimitive head up late-night sets, along with a troubadour session (there is one each night).

SATURDAY

Trey Anastasio and band play two sets, and the bill also includes Manic Focus, Carolyn Wonderland, Andrew Bird, Keller Williams, The Greyboy Allstars, The Suffers, The Brothers Comatose, The Lil Smokies, and Butcher Brown.

Corey Henry and His Funk Apostles will funk up the night, in addition to El Ten Eleven, Jerry Joseph and the Jackmormons, and BoomBox.

SUNDAY

Don’t go anywhere; you’re not nearly finished! This is a day jammed full of Gov’t Mule, Snarky Puppy, Lebo & Friends with Melvin Seals and lots more, SunSquabi, Achilles Wheel, Bokanté, Keller Williams’ Grateful Gospel, and Grupo Fantasma. Do NOT miss Skerik’s Improv Lab!

Late-night shuts down with five shows including Polyrhythmics and Ott & the All-Seeing I.

Also, don’t plan on going to work Monday.
