Catch Interstellar Boys in Earth Orbit While You Can!

A new sextet his the road tonight in Vail, but there’s nothing “new” about these six veterans of the jamband scene. The official announcement reads:

COLLABORATION OF VETERAN MUSICIANS BRING DECADES OF EXPERIENCE TO NEW BAND HITTING THE ROAD IN SUMMER 2017

Interstellar Boys brings together gentlemen who have known each other for years, some as many as three decades. And what they do together has already created quite a buzz, given their “debut” three weeks ago at AthFest (and that was without Joseph!).

Todd Nance, former drummer and vocalist for Widespread Panic and his band Barbara Cue, provides the engine to propel the music with his sometimes deft and often powerful approach to the kit. Jerry Joseph has a storied career with his solo work and with The Jackmormons; he is a songwriter and singer of great depth and conviction was has travelled far and wide internationally with his music. And he’s a badass guitarist.

From Bloodkin comes Daniel Hutchens, another fine singer and guitarist. More guitar and vocals come from Sam Holt, who has his Sam Holt Band and spent years as the guitar tech for Mikey Houser, the late lead guitarist for Widespread Panic. The Panic connection is strong here, as Hutchens and Joseph have both performed with the band, and Widespread Panic plays songs each of them has written (think “Can’t Get High” and “Chainsaw City” for starts).

Last — but definitely not least — are John Neff and Jon Mills. Neff, a former member of Drive-By Truckers, plays sweet pedal steel guitar, and bassist Neff is referred to as the “glue that keeps the whole thing tastefully held together.”

So there you have it: six true veterans embarking on a great new project.

You know what you need to do!
