Roots, Funk, and Blues Square Off at Hot August Music Festival Saturday!

So imagine yourself sitting on the grassy tilt of a ski slope, surrounded by thousands of like-minded individuals, enjoying amazing music across multiple genres. Where are you?

If it’s this Saturday, August 19th, then you’re at Oregon Ridge, enjoying the ambience, camaraderie, and music at the Hot August Music Festival in Cockeysville MD, not far north of Baltimore. This is a magnificent one-day festival, and this year’s festival is stuffed to the gills with incredible talent.

In this corner, amazing roots, Americana, bluegrass and more. In that corner, deep funk and R’n’B. And in that corner, nasty blues.

Three corners? Well, yes!

In corner one, it would be tough to top Old Crow Medicine Show, The Infamous Stringdusters, Cabinet, Dustbowl Revival, and Baskery (OK, they’re three ladies from Sweden, but still).

In corner number two, it doesn’t get much better than Lettuce, Turkuaz, Electric Love Machine, and Squaring the Circle.

That third corner? Full of John Mooney & Bluesiana, Lil Ed & the Blues Imperials, and Memphis Gold with Brett Wilson.

To review: plenty of music you already know you’ll enjoy and plenty more you’re going to discover and love!
