The Suwannee Roots Revival festival runs from October 12th through the 15th and includes a stellar lineup of top acts from across the roots spectrum. The festival is being hosted once again by the majestic Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park (SOSMP) nestled along the banks of the historic Suwannee River in Live Oak, Florida.

The newly released schedule is jam-packed with music on five stages, kicking off on Thursday and closing out on Sunday night. With performances from many artists who have been gracing the stages at the SOSMP for decades, including Peter Rowan, Donna the Buffalo, Jim Lauderdale, Jeff Mosier, Verlon Thompson, Joe Craven and many more, this is set to be a fabulous musical family reunion.

The festival officially begins on Thursday with music on the Amphitheater Stage, Porch Stage, and Dance Stage then starting Friday they will have performances in the Music Hall and workshops at the Music Farmers Stage. Pretty much every act on the Amphitheater stage is on my recommended list, but there will be many more acts that you won’t want to miss.

The lineup is stacked with talent and each day will be a whirlwind of sounds from all branches of the Roots family tree. From the bluegrass stylings of Steep Canyon Rangers and Chatham County Line to the funky soul of Mother’s Finest and The Lee Boys to the pure americana vocals of Amanda Anne Platt and the Honeycutters and Shawn Camp, there will be no shortage of musical options.

You won’t want to miss the Guy Clark Tribute with Verlon Thompson and Shawn Camp on Saturday and the Col. Bruce Hampton tribute Symphony of Gratitude with the Rev. Jeff Mosier Band and guests on Sunday.

The SRR festival was created by true lovers of music with the desire to bring together likeminded musicians and fans in a natural and collaborative environment. It is a rare and precious experience in which you can count on being immersed in a musical wonderland as you drift from the amazing performances on stage to the sounds of pickin’ around campfires day and night.  So bring the kids, stock up on firewood, dust off your wandering shoes, and be part of one of the greatest festival experiences of your life.
