Suwannee Roots Revival – the Final Countdown

Only a few days left until the festivities begin! The second annual Suwannee Roots Revival festival kicks off this coming Thursday, October 12, in Live Oak, Florida, bringing together a lineup that spreads throughout the branches of the roots family tree.

Along with the countless IBMA, Americana and Grammy award winners and nominees such as Bela Fleck and Abigail Washburn, Jim Lauderdale, Steep Canyon Rangers, Shawn Camp, Peter Rowan and Verlon Thompson,  there are plenty of other festival favorites that you can look forward to hearing.

Amanda Anne Platt and The Honeycutters

The brilliant songwriting and musical prowess of Amanda Anne Platt and The Honeycutters continue to gain momentum on their rise through the ranks of Americana music’s hottest bands.

Chatham County Line

If you have a thing for the boys in suits and ties then Chatham County Line should most definitely be on your must-see list. With tight musical arrangements and seamless harmonies, these boys are masters of condenser mic bluegrass.

Grass is Dead

Old and In The Way fans will appreciate the Grass is Dead‘s melding of bluegrass and Grateful Dead songbooks. With hints of jazz, blues and some serious funk thrown in for good measure, the G.I.D take songs that you have heard a hundred times and make them new again.

Shawn Camp and Verlon Thompson

The Songs of Guy Clark set on Saturday with Verlon Thompson and Shawn Camp is going to be an experience that you won’t want to miss as these two friends pay tribute to Guy Clark you will hear personal stories about the life and music of the legendary troubadour.

Col. Bruce Hampton, Ret.

Stick around on Sunday and be there for the Symphony of Gratitude tribute to jamband master Col. Bruce Hampton, Ret., with the Rev. Jeff Mosier Band and friends. Col. Bruce ascended to the next plane of existence in May of this year, leaving behind a legacy of music, philosophy and astronomical wonder.

We were honored to interview Col. Bruce at the 2016 SRR festival. It is one of this budding writer’s most memorable festival experiences.  He will be missed dearly.
