Roosevelt Collier Does Thanksgiving in Florida, Then Jets to Michigan

Roosevelt Collier is a busy man. Tonight (Thanksgiving), he plays at the Re-Union for legendary Florida band S.P.O.R.E. at 1904 Music Hall in Jacksonville FL. S.P.O.R.E. is a powerful force of prog rock, and the addition of Collier on pedal steel and lap steel will send this through the roof.

Collier then jets to Michigan for two great shows. Friday, he plays the Dead & Co. after-party in the Parliament Room at Otus Supply in Ferndale, where he will be joined by members of Genetics.

Saturday features a match-up of two titans, Collier and Mike Dillon and the Mike Dillon Band. Dillon is The Vibraphone Destroyer, a master of all things percussion. I still remember Collier excitedly telling me how he now played punk after he had just joined Dillon and one of his bands (Garage A Trois?) onstage at the Bear Creek Music & Arts Festival of blessed memory.

Collier and his trio also have a Jimi Meets Funk tour on tap for December. More about that with Matt Lapham and Anthony AC Cole soon!
