Article by Rick Munroe

When it comes to riptides, you’ve always been told to stay away. However, this riptide is one you want to engage with, get close to, and groove on, as it’s one of the last big music festivals of 2017.

It’s not surprising that Riptide Music Festival, one of the most interesting and multi-genre music festivals is returning once again to the beaches of Ft. Lauderdale on December 2-3, where music lovers can have fun in the sun while the rest of the country settles in for winter.

Cage the Elephant

The idyllic setting will host a diverse lineup featuring bands that cater to young and not-so-old music fans. If you seek the ultimate festival experience, be sure to stop by the underground village, where there will be popup concerts, snack samples and plenty of festival swag. If you want to know if your favorite sports team is playing or just need to check on your fantasy sports team, head over to the sports oasis, where there will be plenty of TVs to catch up on the games and relax a bit in between acts.

Weezer

The notable Riptide lineup features headliners Cage the Elephant, Weezer, Boys II Men, and KC and the Sunshine Band and a massive lineup that will fill both day and night of this two-day event.

The festival will include various artists who will be painting live and sharing their artistic expressions to those who come to watch. There are VIP ticket options that include premium viewing areas, sample food from local restaurants, private bars with exclusive drink options, air-conditioned bathrooms, and express entry.

Saturday, headliners Cage the Elephant and Weezer will be joined by Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness, Portugal. The Man, Iration, Pvris, Saint Motel, New Politics, Mondo Cozmo, Barns Courtney, Saint Motel, The Academic, MiQ, Alex Di Leo, Brother Sundance, Los 5, The Heirs, and Mike Mineo

Boyz II Men

Sunday, in addition to KC and the Sunshine Band and Boys II Men, enjoy music from Foreigner’s Lou Gramm, Morris Day and the Time, Salt-n-Pepa, Tito Puente, Jr., Loverboy, Shannon, Lime, and Mr. Nice Guy.

Make it a GREAT day! Or TWO days!
