Inaugural Dunedin Brewery Holiday Toy Drive with The Heavy Pets & Row Jomah

Looking for great gift ideas? We’ve got one, and it’s outstanding. Actually, the Dunedin Brewery and Row Jomah have one: the inaugural Dunedin Brewery Holiday Toy Drive. Seriously, you don’t need any more stuff, but there far too many children who do.

So DunBrew and Clearwater’s pop/funk/fusion explosion known as Row Jomah have asked The Heavy Pets, Florida’s “senior citizens” of jam, to join in on the fun. Mark your calendars now — in ink — for Thursday, December 14th (8 PM to midnight). That’s when the magic happens.

You have two options for donating at the event. You may bring an unwrapped toy (or two), or you can bring a cash/check donation to be collected that night. All proceeds to benefit Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office Christmas Sharing Program.

The Heavy Pets

Talk about a WIN-WIN-WIN-WIN! You’ll get to feel good making a difference, you’ll get to hear superb music, you’ll get to quaff outstanding brews, and you’ll get to party with music-loving friends.

The Heavy Pets have been blowing out incredible shows since, well, forever, it would seem. We can still remember seeing them open for Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe in January of 2007 and being so impressed we headed to DunBrew the next night to confirm our assessment. Dozens of shows and ten years later, The Pets still throw one “whale” of a party, so steeped in funky rock and roll. They call South Florida home but play festivals and concerts all over the country. And then there’s that Jackie Bones beer.

Row Jomah

Row Jomah has an indelible bond with DunBrew, and rightfully so. It is the band’s home base; they have played there often and held all three album release parties there — for Cat People! in 2015, for Live at the Dunedin Brewery 2016, and recently for Gods & Guns & Gold. Keyboard player Austin Llewellyn is a member of the Wednesday Night Dunedin House Band, and other members are often on hand. Leader Joe Roma often assists as sound engineer. Did we mention they’re really, really good?

This will be a very special night. Plan on spending it with your friends and The Heavy Pets and Row Jomah and Michael Lyn Bryant and his DunBrew crew. You’ll be very glad you did!
