McDowell Mountain is Celebrating 15 years of Festival Freedom!

McDowell Mountain Music Festival, or M3F if you prefer, is celebrating its 15th year. As Arizona’s premier non-profit music festival, M3F is pulling out all of the stops to celebrate, with a killer lineup, a new stage, and all of the amenities you find at other major music festivals.

Taking place in Phoenix March 2-4, M3F will be headlined by the festival staples such as Big Gigantic, Nick Murphy (FKA Chet Faker), GRiZ, and Father John Misty, with The Revivalists closing out the weekend. The timing may sound chilly, but by calling Arizona home McDowell Mountain should feel like 100% summer time. With big name headliners as well as support from greats like Dr. Dog and The Marcus King Band, the weekend stands posed to be an amazing kickoff to the West Coast festival season.

M3F is not just a place for adults, either. As a city festival that does not include camping, the organizers have been sure to make the festival family-friendly, with children under 10 getting in free.We would highly suggest being sure to bring ear protection for anyone under 18, however, and throw some on yourself while you are at it!

Sorry, I’ll get out of mom mode and back to the festival now. M3F has plenty of entertainment planned alongside the music for their 15th birthday. Costumes, totems, and LED hoops/props are all permitted and encouraged, Saturday and Sunday will play host to a drum circle, and Desoto Central Market will play host to afterparties for those of us who like to dance into the wee hours of the morning.

Getting back to the music, other bands that you will not want to miss include Brasstracks, Seratones, and Anderson East, just to name a few. If you are ready to kick the festival season off in a big way, grab your ticket for McDowell Mountain now, and worry about everything else later.
