Nahko is Serving the Medicine in Aspen!

Nahko and Medicine For the People will be bringing their songs of healing to Belly Up Aspen on Monday, July 27th, as part of a three-night Colorado run. NMFTP is a cultural collective of global touring musicians. Led by lead singer Nahko Bear, the tribe has members of many different races and nationalities. Their self-proclaimed “Real Talk Music” and “native-based, earth-based, spirit-inspired” genre bring forth a movement of positive action, mindfulness, and ceremony. Their sounds have hip hop, folk, tribal, and jazz influence. The group of vagabonds was initially formed in the land of Hawaii. NMFTP have great concern and interest in indgenious culture, the Earth’s environment, and genuine appreciation for one’s life. They have definitely made a name for themselves on the festival circuit. Their style and sound are versatile; they have shared the stage with many reggae giants and will be opening up for The String Cheese Incident on July 26th at Red Rocks.

Belly Up Aspen was opened in January 2005. Belly Up Aspen hosts more than 300 live concerts a year and has featured acts such as: Widespread Panic, John Prine, The Flaming Lips, Jane’s Addiction, Thievery Corporation, The Raconteurs, Ben Harper, B.B. King, Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zeros, Pitbull, SEAL, ZZ Top, Chris Isaak, Gomez, G Love, Bassnectar, John Legend, Damian Marley and Nas, Stephen Marley, Lucinda Williams, Snoop Dogg, Tiësto, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Joe Cocker, Wyclef Jean, Ice Cube, Umphrey’s McGee and many, many more.
