First Look at Firefly Music Festival 2017!

Firefly Music Festival will return to Dover, DE, June 15-18th. The annual festival takes place at The Woodlands of Dover International Speedway, an ideal setting for a festival with its mix of sunny fields, shady woods and walking-friendly pavement. Message boards have been abuzz since the conclusion of last year’s event with hopeful guesses and predictions for 2017.

The Firefly crowd keeps growing, and so do the size of their acts. They hit a grand slam at the fourth annual festival in 2015, scoring the coveted booking of Sir Paul McCartney. Last year, Mumford & Son’s epic performance was made even more memorable as front man Marcus Mumford shared a humbling moment of gratitude and awe while looking out at the giant crowd. He even went so far as to dub Firefly Music Festival “the new Glastonbury.” Currently, Festival Insights ranks Firefly at number 29 on their global list of the top 250 music festivals.

Last year, the festival surprised eager fans by dropping nearly their entire line-up in late November without warning. Many had high hopes for another early reveal, but so far we only have one confirmation. Yesterday, Firefly let us know that we can count on seeing Phantogram in 2017.

The announcement came in the form of promotion for a Firefly sponsored Phantogram show at Baltimore’s Rams Head Live this January. They called the announcement a “first peek at next summer’s Firefly lineup” and gifted fans with a password to purchase tickets for the show at Rams Head.

Surely yesterday’s news has got restless fans refreshing the Firefly Facebook page every hour hoping for more revelations. With the exception of last year, Firefly’s lineup usually arrives around the end of February.

C’mon Firefly, we need more! Whom do you hope to see onstage at The Woodlands this year?
