Tool will headline NYC’s 2017 Governors Ball

Tool will return to New York City for the first time in over ten years to headline the 2017 installment of Governors Ball Music Festival, according to a Consequence of Sound exclusive. The last time Tool came through New York City was in 2006 in support of their album 10,000 Days. Fans are currently at the edge of their seats waiting on the confirmed follow-up album.

This will mark the seventh year of Governors Ball, its sixth at its now-permanent home on Randall’s Island Park. The NYC festival will take place from June 2nd-4th. Although representatives for Governors Ball would not confirm the anticipated return of the band, they did say “The full Governors Ball lineup will be announced early next year, at which point tickets will also go on sale.”
