If there was ever any doubt as to how much of an influence Col. Bruce Hampton (Ret.) has had on music, just take a look at the scheduled guests for his 70th birthday, and all those doubts will vanish in a whirlwind of jaw-dropping emoji. Most of the boys from Widespread Panic, Karl Denson, Warren Haynes, Peter Buck, John Fishman, Chuck Leavell, John Popper, Billy Bob Thornton and many, many more will be on hand. That list alone would make for an amazing festival lineup, and this is just a one-night party!

This epic birthday party will be held at one of the most beloved venues in Atlanta – The Fox Theater. Originally opened in 1929, this renovated movie theater has hosted legendary concerts from Phish to Pearl Jam and, of course, Col. Bruce Hampton along with many, many more.

Col. Bruce has often been hailed as the father of modern jam music. His influences on many current musicians cannot be overstated. Artists as varied as Oteil Burbridge and Dave Matthews to Derek Trucks and John Bell have all said that the reason they play music as well as they do is specifically because of Col. Bruce.
