Dozens of places to kick back at the festival, like the Tea Lounge. Brian Hensley.

The weather remained clear for the final day of a magical collection of music and arts. Whether the last couple days were a bit of a haze or you’re still pushing through, the festival was able to tend to every need. Food trucks gave us a variety of delicious food to fuel up with besides the typical sandwiches and junk one might have back at the site. If you needed a moment to step away, areas like the Make Art Shrine or the Tea Lounge made for relaxing spots to get away for a bit. Or, maybe a moment of zen with the organized yoga was able to make it all the better on that last day.

The last day gave us a performance that many have been waiting to see since his rise in the last year. A life-changing and swag ridden show from Anderson .Paak and the Free Nationals gave us a combination of songs from YesLawd and Malibu that was a needed for many fans. We were able to catch one new song that hasn’t been released, which did not disappoint, before their leave on a world tour.

Color and charm came from the music and arts but also from the fans that attended. Jorge Suarez.

The difficulties of leaving such a magical place were all the easier with the farewell we had from the artists. Acts like Pretty Lights were able to give a lighthearted tone which left us on a very high note, excited for what the festival is capable of in coming years. The soulful and captivating tone from a set like Pretty Lights live was able to mellow down the mood that came from such an eventful and nonstop weekend.

Whether if was hard for you to say goodbye, or you tricked yourself into being there one more day with the nonstop party over at Jungle 51, many of us were able to leave on a good note to kick off the spring and another festival season for 2017. With the beautiful art installations, amenities, flawless organization, and the beautiful souls that glowed under the Florida sun, to find a flaw over the weekend was near impossible. Okeechobee successfully wrapped up its second year as the premier camping festival in Florida which made its signature for hosting an eclectic collection of artists spanning different mediums and genres. It captivated the hearts of souls young and old and deserves the recognition that it is quickly gaining as one of the most diverse music festivals in the country.

Stay tuned for interviews with the artists who were at Okeechobee Music and Arts Festival.
