Gator Jam Returns to Miami with Two Grammy Winners
Gator Jam takes place on Saturday March 10, as the Southern Uprising Tour rolls into Miami to bring music lovers the very best of country and Southern rock. This is just one of nine dates that this collection of musicians will play together, including Friday, March 9th, at the St. Augustine Amphitheatre and Sunday the 11th at Busch Gardens in Tampa.
When it comes to bluegrass, country, rock, southern rock, gospel and countless other genres of music, only one name comes to mind: Charlie Daniels. At 81, Daniels continues to delight crowds and puts the same passion into his music as he has since starting his career in music in the 1950s. The Grammy-winning singer-songwriter comes to Miami’s Miccosukee Resort and Gaming as part of the Gator Jam Music Festival.

Those attending will have an opportunity to witness a true music legend who along with his fiddle brings an amazing collection of hits that have delighted his audiences worldwide. The Charlie Daniels Band, Travis Tritt, The Marshall Tucker Band and The Outlaws will collectively deliver a great night of country and Southern rock.
Travis Tritt
After more than 27 years since he launched his music career, the Southern rock-influenced artist continues to sell out shows and stay in the forefront for old and new fans across the globe who love country music. Tritt won his first of two Grammy Awards in 1992 as part of a duet with Marty Stuart. Again in 1998, he teamed up with Stuart to win another Grammy. Travis released seven studio albums and a greatest hits package for Warners. Released in 1990, his debut album Country Club and its succession of hits put him in the elite class, including being part of of “The Class of ’89” that included some of country music’s top superstars, including Garth Brooks, Clint Black and Alan Jackson, all whom dominated the charts in the early ’90s. “Country Club,” “Help Me Hold On,” “I’m Gonna Be Somebody,” and “Drift Off to Dream” peaked at numbers two and three on the Hot Country Singles & Tracks charts; all which led for Tritt to win Top New Male Artist award from Billboard and the CMA Horizon Award (now known as the New Artist Award).
The Charlie Daniels Band
The much acclaimed Daniels has won countless awards in genres ranging from gospel to Southern rock. His impact on the music industry has not only touched his fans but also the hundreds of other artists whom he has performed with. There are very few artists whose legacy extends beyond one type of music. His unique voice along with his Southern style have propelled his career to an unmatched long-lasting collection of music that is unheard of today. After an short-lived solo career, Daniels went on to form the Charlie Daniels Band, and the group scored its first hit with the top ten hit “Uneasy Rider.” Since then CDB has populated radio with such memorable hits as “Long Haired Country Boy,” “The South’s Gonna Do It Again,” “In America,” “The Legend of Wooley Swamp” and, of course, his signature song, “The Devil Went Down to Georgia,” which won a Grammy for Best Country Vocal Performance by a Duo or Group in 1979 as well as single of the year at the Country Music Association Awards.
The Marshall Tucker Band
Founding member and lead singer Doug Gray continues to lead the band playing the type of music that simply cannot be duplicated by other bands. The band’s unique style is something that fans of this band have enjoyed since the band’s inception in the early 1970s. The current members of the band offer a powerful stage presence as they tour the country and continue to be powerful force in the world of music. With hit singles like “Heard It In a Love Song,” “Fire On The Mountain,” “Can’t You See,” and “Take The Highway,” they earned seven gold and three platinum albums while they were on the Capricorn Records label.
The Outlaws
For the past 40 years, Southern rock legends The Outlaws have endured band member changes and other challenges to continue serving up some of the most consistent music in the Southern rock genre. Formed in Tampa in 1972, The Outlaws – known for their triple-guitar rock jam and three-part country harmonies – became one of the longest-lasting bands that continues to tour annually to the delight of their fans. The band’s first three albums, The Outlaws, Lady In Waiting and Hurry Sundown – featuring such rock radio favorites as “There Goes Another Love Song,” “Green Grass & High Tides,” “Knoxville Girl” and “Freeborn Man” – would become worldwide gold and platinum landmarks of the Southern rock era.
