Joe Marcinek Again Rounds Up A-Listers for His Album Release Tour

If it ever turns out that Joe Marcinek is actually the International Man of Mystery, I doubt that anybody will be surprised. We’re not sure if there is anyone who can barnstorm the country while cobbling together amazing quartets (sometimes more) with members of some of the most prominent groups from the jam scene. Consider that, on this tour, he’ll be playing at some point with members of The New Mastersounds, The Meters, The Nth Power, The String Cheese Incident, Dumpstaphunk, Papa Gros Funk, The Heavy Pets, Turkuaz, Toubab Krewe, the Warren Haynes Band, Pretty Lights, Groovesession, and Break Science.

WOW!

Marcinek is an affable and talented Hoosier who just loves to play, and obviously many players love to hop on stage to play with him. There are heavy doses of funk, rock, and Dead with generous helpings of blues and jazz on the side. Not surprisingly, perhaps, although each band usually only plays “together” for two, three or four shows, the groove is seamless.

In addition to Marcinek’s work with Fresh Hops, the Joe Marcinek Band has two outstanding albums: Both Sides (2016) and Slink (2017). The brand new album, JMIII, will be released November 16th. Watch this space next Monday, November 12th, for a review and your first opportunity to hear the entire album.

Given the accuracy of that time honored statement You can’t tell the players without a scorecard,” here is an attempt to tell you who’s on first, what’s on second, and we hope we know who’s on third:
