Chris Robinson Brotherhood coming to Virginia Beach

On their website, the Chris Robinson Brotherhood invites you to “Join us on our July run and let our minds meld in a magik celebration! Let the vibe flow, let the sunshine glow, and let our gardens grow together!!!!!” Now that’s a sentiment we can certainly get behind.
This California band, who play frequently to sold-out shows, are grooving their way along the East Coast and will make a stop in Virginia Beach at Shaka’s Live on July 23. The tour is in support of their 2014 release Phosphorescent Harvest. This is their third release after Big Moon Ritual and The Magic Door.
The five-man band includes Chris Robinson on vocals and guitar, Neal Casal on guitar and vocals, Mark Dutton on bass, Tony Leone on drums, and Adam McDonald on keys. Their self-described style is a “farm-to-table psychedelic rock band”.
Casal, along with a host of other musicians, recently entertained crowds during the Grateful Dead’s Fare Thee Well Tour set breaks. The group, jokingly named “Franklins of the World,” kept the entertainment going, playing a different set every night.
Drawing from the vibe of the Grateful Dead, the riffs of rock and roll, and the intertwining of experimental psychedelic, The Chris Robinson Band creates a sound that has them jamming and entertaining crowds for hours at a time.
