JJ Grey & MOFRO Love Florida! NYE Run & Lots More!

jj bannerJJ Grey & MOFRO will celebrate the New Year in Grey’s home state of Florida. Grey, best known for his passionate embrace of the natural beauty of Florida and his disdain for those who would mar its beauty, has a five-night New Year’s run, accompanied by Kaleigh Baker and The Groove Orient from Orlando.

The run kicks off with two nights at Lafayette’s in West Palm Beach (Tuesday & Wednesday, December 29 & 30). The New Year’s Eve show (Friday) is at the House of Blues in Orlando/Kissimmee. From there, the music moves to Fort Myers on Friday, January 1st, at Buckingham’s Blues Bar, and this brief but explosive tour ends in Key West at East Fort Martello on the 2nd.

The two shows at Lafayette’s also feature very special and intimate holiday charity happy hour shows with JJ Grey! Tickets are available for purchase in conjunction with a ticket to the JJ Grey & Mofro show at Lafayette’s on either December 29th or December 30th. 100% of the net proceeds will be donated to Hope From Harrison. You can read more about these special performances here.

JJ Grey & MOFRO have been preaching the Florida gospel since the 2001 release of Blackwater. Eight albums later, the group’s superstar status is firmly cemented (seven studio albums, a “hits”-type collection, and a live recording and DVD). Grey is one of the premier blues belters in the “front porch soul” tradition. The group’s 2015 album release is the superb Ol’ Glory.

MOFRO jumps on Jam Cruise in January. Grey returns to Florida in February for three shows with Southern Soul Assembly (Marc Broussard, Anders Osborne and Luther Dickinson). March finds MOFRO in the South and Northeast, then a pair of festivals in Florida in April, a special Red Rocks show with The Infamous Stringdusters and Fruition in May, and a European tour in June. You can find all the dates and ticket information at http://www.jjgrey.com/tour.

Kaleigh Baker is also a fine blues belter with Orlando connections currently working out of Colorado. Her new album, Weary Hours, was released in October. She is joined by a premier rock and roll quintet in the form of The Groove Orient, a regular on the Florida festival and concert scene.
