S.P.O.R.E. is invading St. Petersburg and Dunedin this weekend!

S.P.O.R.E. stands for Spontaneous.Progression.Of.Recurring.Energy. And I am here to tell you that is entirely accurate. I have been a fan of this high-energy five-piece livetronica jam band out of Jacksonville from the first time I heard them, but February was absolutely mind-blowing (my mind, anyway). I was fortunate enough to catch them three times (Roosevelt Collier’s Suwannee Getdown, Little Econ Love Fest, and Peace, Love & Blueberries). They ripped my head right off all three times.

S.P.O.R.E. are: Steven Honig, bass; Jeremy Kairalla, guitar; Chris Richard, drums; and Alex Sears, keyboards and flute. They describe themselves as a “live instrumentated electrofunk jam band.”

Tonight (March 31st), S.P.O.R.E. takes over the Ringside Cafe in St. Petersburg. Show starts at 9. Friday, they open for the amazing Nth Power at the Dunedin Brewery.

Among their upcoming festivals are Mindspring on April 16th, the Orange Blossom Jamboree May 19-22, and the Purple Hatter’s Ball June 19-22. If you dig funk, prog, jamtronica and more, these boys are for you!
