Ya, mon, we’re talking about Savi Fernandez, the dynamic musical spirit from Orlando who is celebrating another ellipse around the sun.
So what should he do for his birthday? First, you need to know that his wonderful lady, Adrienne, planned a surprise for him, taking him last night to St. Matthew’s Tavern to jam with Roosevelt Collier and the crew.
Not sure what his plans are today, but I know he has to pack, because the Savi Fernandez Birthday Band is playing the Purple Hatter’s Ball pre-party tomorrow at the Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park. Savi and band go on from 10:15 to 11:45, right before headliner Sunsquabi.
After a couple of shows at The Roof in Daytona Beach, the band’s schedule blows up in August with dates in the Carolinas, Georgia, and West Virginia, including festival appearances at Soulshine Farm and Camp Barefoot.
Topping it all off: Savi and band were included in the initial artist announcement for Suwannee Hulaween in October!
After the band unveiled its outstanding album From My Heart last year, they did their album release party in style: the Island Hoppin’ Tour, hoppin’ the Virgin Islands! Earlier this year, the Savi band headlined a show at House of Blues in Orlando and just had a smash performance at Orange Blossom Jamboree.
In addition to Savi on guitar and vocals, expect to see Nas on bass and Nahshon Thomas on drums.
