Loci Records Ready to Invade Denver

Back in October, the head of Loci Records, Doug Appling, a.k.a. Emancipator, had this to share:

“Excited to announce the first ever Loci Records showcase tour will be hitting select cities in late 2016 and early 2017.

Loci is the plural of locus, which is a focus point. It’s a collection of points, the same way each artist on the label is a point in the musical universe. Loci is the meeting point, a platform where we can share our art collectively, and we’d like for this tour to be another series of points where we share this music with you in a live setting.

The venues we’ve chosen are purposely more intimate than previous Emancipator tours, and it will be Ilya and I performing (No Ensemble) along with Tor, Edamame, and Lapa.”

This tour is big business for Loci artists. The past few years have found the Emancipator project reaching incredible levels of success, and now it’s time for some of the lesser-known acts to step out of their labelhead’s shadow and get some shine of their own and create new fans with every passing stop.

Luckily, Denver is one such select city that will get to witness this, the most complete Loci Records experience to date, as the tour will be stopping at The Bluebird Theater on Saturday, December 17th.

For those of you who have been living under a rock for the past few years, here’s a sample of what Emancipator’s has in store:

Also, for good measure, why not get familiar with the acts Appling is so excited to present?

First up, we’ve got Lapa, a.k.a. Ilya Goldberg. Goldberg is heavily involved in the production/performance of Emancipator music, but that doesn’t stop him from doing his own thing:

Next up is Canadian downtempo beatsmith TOR:

And finally, the 27-year-old Chi-town producer Edamame, known for the ambient nature of his tunes:
