III Points Reveals New Acts to 2017 Lineup

If the lineup wasn’t already impressive enough, III Points recently added a final phase of acts for the 2017 edition of III Points. This list of acts will grace the mind-melting stages of III Points with fellow headliners The XX, Gorillaz, and Nicolas Jaar. For more information on the headlining acts of this festival, access our previous post right here (Two Months Out, Legendary Headliners to Take Stage at III Points).

The 14-act addition for the festival comes to us with officially less than 50 days until the first day of the creative arts celebration. The lineup already shares one of the most diverse lists of contemporary acts from the United States and abroad. The recently added acts reminds us how diverse III Points has become with the performances coming to Miami in the fall.

The acts mentioned above include world class DJs and producers bringing different interpretations of the DJ/producer genre from every corner of the planet, like Jonas Rathsman (Sweden) and Julio Victoria (Colombia) combining with local acts like DJ YNOT. The additions also include stage acts that bend the alternative genre to their own shape such as Perfume Genius and Pumarosa.

The most exciting names added to the lineup are at the top of the bill with familiar names Kevin Parker (Tame Impala) and Mark Ronson (renowned producer of acts like Bruno Mars and Amy Winehouse.) Both Parker and Ronson have an output with a wide range of diversity in their sound. Although both acts are expected to come with their own unique sound, both have united as collaborators since 2015, playing Splendour In The Grass. This summer they made another appearance as a DJ act at Governors Ball with conversations around over eight songs recently produced by the duo. Although no music has been formally released, Ronson and Parker will join us in Miami for III Points with the possibility of unreleased music to be played.

Monolink is another act on this lineup with the “live” attachment to the bill. This act is another hybrid of the DJ/producer genre to join the festivities at III Points. Monolink recently made his Miami debut at Floyd Miami on the Burning Sun tour. Berlin-based act Monolink roots from singer-songwriter origins and uses layers of electronic music circling around the raw and uncut stylings of electronic music which would come from a singer-songwriter and his guitar.

Another act to keep in consideration when the III Points schedule comes out is Perfume Genius. Already an established act, Perfume Genius recently received critical acclaim for recent album No Shape, named Pitchfork’s Best New Music back in May. Perfume Genius’ Mike Hadreas is a collaborator of producers and directors known to work with acts such as Bjork, John Legend, and Alabama Shakes. This will be the first time Hadreas performs in Miami and goes to show the effort put into making III Points a name in Miami and making the city an international hub for the arts.
