Is It Virtual Insanity to Imagine This at Suwannee Hulaween?
Paul Levine is a pretty amazing guy. For more than a decade he has brought astounding music to the Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park. Ask a Bear Creek fan (I’m still crying — best festival EVER). He has a connection with Wanee. From day one, he has been at the forefront of the extremely important Purple Hatter’s Ball (read our recent preview here); he’s got Lettuce, Spafford, and Breaking Biscuits coming this June, for Pete’s sake! Roosevelt Collier Getdowns, A Feast of Funk and Soul Food, Suwannee Summer Clusterpuck and more. And he’s also up to his eyeballs in Fool’s Paradise in St. Augustine.
This time, however, it would appear that Levine has summited Everest. Standing on the top. And, frankly, we’re on “Cloud 9,” because it looks like Levine really has a hold on some “Hot Property” this time.
Back on February 23rd, Levine posted this on Facebook:
“So bummed I’ll have to miss Jamiroquai in San Francisco. This band is absolutely stunning and on top of their game. Hope they announce a few more US shows. Better yet, gotta head abroad to see them. Check them out yesterday in Chile.”
A few of my friends were already catching the drift. Me? Heck, no!
Then, last Saturday, in an online conversation, Levine tormented me with this:
“I think you’ll flip when you hear who we got for Hula. Coming soon!”
So yesterday, this short 14-second video appeared with the dates. Observe in the lower left corner under the gator tail:

So it would appear that the man with the pangolin hat and his astounding band may be headed to Live Oak in October The just-announced Suwannee Hulaween dates are October 26-28 with a pre-party on Thursday, October 25th, a shoo-in.
Imagine how Dynamite it would be to have the Rock Dust Light Star perform A Funk Odyssey for our LateNightTales!
