What:
Governors Ball is a music festival that launched in 2011 and is produced by New York City promotion company Founders Entertainment. Co-founders Jordan Wolowitz and Tom Russell are NYC natives who met in boarding school at the young age of 15. Fast forwarding, they took a leap right after college and made their dreams into reality, and the festival is going on its seventh year.
When:
This year the festival is from Friday, June 1, to Sunday, June 3.
Where:
Randall’s Island Park on Randall’s Island is centrally located in the middle of New York City. The scenic island is surrounded by the East River, between East Harlem, the South Bronx, and Astoria, Queens.
How:
Ferry and shuttle passes can be purchased right from the festival’s website. As well, you can also get to Randall’s Island via subway, bus, bike or taxi/Uber/Lyft.
