Souljam Invites YOU to Their CD Release Party in Vero Beach Saturday
One of the greatest aspects of attending music festivals is discovering bands you’ve never even heard of before. Everyone is standing around, nodding heads, asking, “Who ARE these guys? They’re great!”
That happened half a dozen times at Orange Blossom Jamboree in May, never more true than when Souljam took the stage to open Thursday’s packed lineup. We got an accurate first impression with the band’s name, but this quintet really knocked us out. At the time, we wrote:
If we were pleased by that opening set Wednesday by Grindstone Sinners, we were bowled over by Souljam, a Vero Beach quintet; their name is quintessential truth in advertising. They blew out a great set, again with a female vocalist. AnnaLee Keehner also played acoustic guitar, while counterpart John Carpenter also sang and played lead electric guitar. Keehner’s powerful voice filled the campground. The set included five fine originals plus two dynamite covers. The first was a surprise “Surprise Valley > Changing Tide” (the latter original), and the second was a massive “Whipping Post” finale.
Souljam are: John Carpenter, lead guitar/vocals; AnnaLee Keehner, guitar/vocals; Will Keehner, bass; Patrick Williams, drums; and Brandon Putzke, percussion.
This Saturday, August 4th, Souljam hosts their album release party at Walking Tree Brewery in Vero Beach. they have several more dates booked, with lots more to come as they hit the Florida festival circuit.
