Giving Back With 12 Days of GRiZMAS

Detroit can be an unforgiving place if you’re not among the fortunate who have easy access to the basics in life like shelter, food and clothing. And in wintertime, it only gets tougher. Luckily there are caring souls like Michigan native, producer, musician and rising international star in the EDM and jamtronica worlds GRiZ, whose 12 Days of GRiZMAS aims to give back to the community that made him.

Now in its fifth year, the series of charitable events started December 4 and culminates on December 14 and 15 with GRiZMAS Night – two sold-out shows at The Masonic Temple in Detroit, the first of which will include GRiZ and his 15-piece live band. Yeah, you heard right – 15 players!

The events that GRiZ is organizing throughout his hometown include yoga, GRiZFAM bowling, live shows, local Mic Night and more. GRiZ will also run a daily GRiZMAS workshop and coat drive where participants can make donations, dabble in arts and crafts, and find other ways to share the spirit of the holidays.

Growing up in the progressive crucible of Detroit’s music scene, GRiZ (born Grant Richard Kwiecinski) changed the direction of his life and now seeks to help kids in the city thrive as he did. All of the proceeds from each charitable GRiZMAS event will go toward increasing access to music education in the city’s public schools. What’s more, Detroit’s Great Lakes Coffee Roasting Company is offering a GRiZMAS blend. 100% of the proceeds from each sale will also go toward this worthy endeavor. You can purchase yours by clicking here.

Even if you can’t be in Detroit for 12 Days of GRiZMAS, you can make a direct donation at GRiZMAS online. Click on the links below to learn more about how to spread holiday cheer with GRiZ.
