Roo Clues Schmoo Clues: Speculation Season is Here!
Holiday season means something very different to the music festival world. This time of year, while others are sipping eggnog and roasting chestnuts by an open fire, those of us with gypsy souls and love for a good beat are spending countless hours contemplating what, where, when, and who will be at various festivals in the coming year. One festival that essentially has its own conspiracy cult, a-la-Inforoo, is Bonnaroo. We have already seen several mockup/rumored schedules going around, and that is not even the tip of the tin foil hat-wearing iceberg.
Clues!? Where?!
A handful of festivals such as Shakey Knees, Electric Forest, and Firefly have already released initial and incomplete lineups that give us a glimpse into several bands making the rounds on the festival circuit this summer. One of the biggest and most exciting, at least in this writer’s opinion, comes from North Carolina’s Epicenter Music Festival, who has the Sunday headliner of Foo Fighters. These guys have already been making rounds in online discussions as a possibility for headlining Bonnaroo as well as a few other festivals this summer.
ROO CLUES
In addition to our ability to infer certain acts on other lineups, the infamous Roo Clues have begun. For those not inundated in Bonnaroo, Roo Clues is a series of posts, usually on social media, using various text and visual media to infer certain bands that will be playing, usually bands on the lower half of the lineup, and there is usually at least a split decision between who it may be.
Keep That Tin Foil Hat Handy
These speculations, rumors, and “confirmed” lineups will only get more and more frequent and believable as we count down to the estimated lineup drop sometime in January. Keep your eyes peeled — and a healthy handful of skepticism — and you might just find the lineup out before you know it ;).
