Sweat All Day, Party All Night; Bonnaroo Late Night Announced!

Late Night, Schmate Night!

Let’s be honest with ourselves for a moment. We all say we love Bonnaroo and enjoy every minute of it, and to an extent that is true, but what we really mean is that we suffer through those mid-afternoon sets in the boiling Tennessee sun with limited shade so that we can make it to the real show: the late-night, post-midnight shows!

Variety is the Spice of Life!

Bonnaroo officially announced its roster of who will be rocking those coveted late-night slots today, and we are not disappointed! Jam fans can be grateful (wink wink), as Joe Russo’s Almost Dead will be found partying with us late into the night… or into wee hours of the morning. Joining them will be the comedic stylings of The Lonely Island, out on the first stop of their first official tour EVER. Oddly enough, this big stop does not find its way onto the band’s tour roster, but it would be a lot cooler if it did. Finally, the late-night rounds out with a hefty dose of various EDM artists such as Gramatic, RL Grime, a B2B (back to back) set, the infamous Superjam lead by GRiZ, and, in its return to the farm, heavy metal band Deafheaven, with a few other acts peppered in.

Overall Grade: B, maybe B-

Overall, this late-night lineup seems like a hearty mix, and most will find something to enjoy after the sun sets, except Thursday, where it will be an all-EDM affair. Overall I feel the variety is solidly divided by days, but the volume just is not there, and a lot of that weight will be hefted over to the Kalliope crew, as well as whatever’s shaking out in the Plazas! Who are you excited to see at this year’s Bonnaroo Music and Art’s Festival?!
