Tortuga has become the go-to destination for those who love country music and a mix of other genres. This established music festival consistently delivers the hottest country acts that come down to South Florida to enjoy the sunshine as the rest of the country slowly begins to thaw. If you have never attended Tortuga, be prepared for a weekend of music, dancing, making new friends and whatever else comes to mind when you are there. Although most come for the music, there are plenty of activities to do while you are there. After all, you are on the beach in South Florida. Does it get much better? And of course, let’s not forget that the festival has a much deeper purpose than simply the music.

The festival’s roots were initially a vision to create a gathering of people to celebrate their love for music and the ocean. The festival’s focus is specifically aimed to help save the world’s oceans. Through its partnership with the Rock The Ocean Foundation, Tortuga brings attention to the issues that are affecting the oceans. With its focus on marine conservation, the festival and its fans have donated over a million dollars for ocean conservation.

If you seek a deeper understanding about the festival’s true purpose, head over to Conservation Village, where you get an understanding of the five core issues that the Rock the Ocean Foundation focuses on. Experts will be on hand with fun, educational and interactive activities that will give you a better understanding of shark and turtle conservation, marine pollution, overfishing, and coral reef degradation. You will get a chance to meet the experts working in the field who can share their perspectives on the state of the oceans and what can be done to improve not only marine life but also the oceans to be enjoyed by future generations.
