Railbird Dazzles with Its Initial 2019 Lineup

Digging deep into the trenches of blues, rock, Americana, bluegrass and soul, Railbird organizers have woven together a dazzling tapestry of talent for its initial lineup. The Raconteurs, Gary Clark, Jr., Mavis Staples, Brandi Carlile, Hozier and Tyler Childers will be among a wide spectrum of artists performing at the inaugural music, bourbon and equine festival to be held August 10-11 in Lexington, Kentucky.

Joining them will be Old Crow Medicine Show, Mandolin Orange, Robert Earl Keen, Grace Vanerwaal, Billy Strings, Ruston Kelly, St.Paul and the Broken Bones, Lucinda Williams, I’m With Her, Drew Holcomb and the Neighbors, Jade Bird and more. They’ll be playing across three stages situated on the beautiful grounds surrounding Keenland, a historic racecourse in the heart of Lexington’s thoroughbred horse country.

Railbird will also be a celebration of local culture, cuisine and, of course, Kentucky’s biggest export – bourbon. Attendees can visit The Rickhouse to experience an expertly curated bourbon experience including hand-selected barrels from Kentucky’s finest distilleries. Bourbon barrel selections will be chosen in collaboration with Academy Award nominee and Lexington-based film maker AJ Hochhalter, producer of the 2018 documentary NEAT: The Story of Bourbon.

Festival-goers can partake in intimate culinary experiences with some of the area’s award-winning chefs. Among them are James Beard nominee Ouita Michael (Holly Hill Inn), Top Chef season 16 runner-up Sara Bradley (freight house), Master Chef alumnus Dan Wu (Atomic Ramen), Cole Arimes (Coles 735 Main), and Toa Green (Crank and Boom).

Ticket pre-sales are underway now with a public sale set for Thursday, March 28, at 10 a.m. EDT. For more information and how to purchase tickets, click on the links below.
