Oz Noy, Brad Adam Miller & Keith Carlock: The Funky Biscuit Shows August 21
Three titans will soon descend upon The Funky Biscuit in Boca Raton for two shows of stunning progressive jazz and more. Oz Noy is a guitarist of stunning ability, melding jazz, funk, rock, blues, and R&B. Noy works out of New York. Drummer Keith Carlock has a jaw-dropping resume, best known as the drummer for Steely Dan since 2003. Brad Adam Miller is the “local” element, since he is based in Fort Lauderdale, but he plays everywhere with a stunning array of players, including PYTHON (Adam Deitch, Eric Benny Bloom, and BIGYUKI).
The trio have shows at 6 and at 9 p.m. Thursday, August 21 in the intimate confines of The Funky Biscuit.
At North Beach Music Festival in 2023, Miller fronted a quartet with Oz Noy. At the time, we noted:
Most patrons had no idea what was about to explode on the second stage: an absolute master class in jazz funk fusion with Brad Miller, Oz Noy, and Thomas Pridgen. And, to up the ante, Nick Hetko on keyboards was a late addition. Miller is a monster bassist, and Pridgen was incredible to watch on kit. But the secret weapon was Oz Noy, a guitarist of astonishing skills. Miller gave him the nod, opening with two of Noy’s compositions, and provided plenty of space for him to create.
Miller will also be assembling a band for Suwannee Hulaween on Halloween!
