Wayne Krantz: Taking the groove to South Florida

Wayne Krantz is one of the greatest guitarists not enough people know about. In addition to his concentration on solo and trio work, Krantz has managed to find time to play and record with artists such as Steely Dan, Michael Brecker, Donald Fagen, Billy Cobham, Chris Potter, David Binney, Victor Bailey, Leni Stern, and Carla Bley. Not a bad resume that. He has a dozen solo recordings to his name and another 20 with a wide array of musicians.

Recently, Krantz finished a six-date project at The Bitter End in New York, A Relentless Onslaught of Fortnight Tuesdays. Now he’s taking the trio to sunny South Florida for two magical shows at The Funky Biscuit in Boca Raton June 4. He will be joined by monster bass wizard Brad Adam Miller and titanic drummer Keith Carlock. Carlock has been collaborating with Krantz for two decades, including albums such as Krantz Carlock Lefebvre and Good Piranha /Bad Piranha.

This is amazing jazz music. Don’t sleep on these shows!
