Top 10 MUST-See Acts at This Year’s Catskill Chill Music Festival

Catskill Chill, one of the year’s most anticipated festivals, has released its schedule of killer acts. Ranging from jam to electronic and, of course, jamtronic, Chill has managed to place some of the scene’s best artists together for one last GREAT time at Camp Minglewood. The acts are scheduled perfectly with few conflicts. Here are our top 10 must-see acts as we say farewell to Camp Minglewood.

10. Hayley Jane and the Primates

The beautiful Hayley Jane is bringing her primal band mates to Chill for the first time as their summer continues to accelerate them to the next level.
See for yourself Sunday from 7:00-8:00 pm at the DC Corner.

This duo combines live drums and mixing and is continuing to gain speed as the multi-genre dance music is as unusal and fun as they come. Opening for acts such as The Disco Biscuits, Horizon Wireless has been on the map for a few years now, and they are catching fire.
You can catch this interesting duo twice over the weekend, from 11:00 pm-12:00 am both Friday and Saturday at the DC Corner stage.

8. Marvel Years

Marvel Years might be the smallest act to make our top 10, but that has nothing to do with his talent. The solo DJ mixes in live guitar with his smooth beats and is taking off after an extensive tour with well know electronic artist Gramatik this past winter.
Marvel Years closes out Club Chill for good, Sunday from 11:30 pm to 1:00 am.

7.  ShwiKus Plays the ’80s

If you have ever been to Catskill Chill before, you know plenty about ShwiKus, the collaboration of funk bands Shwizz and Fikus. If you don’t, get ready to as the collab gets set to get funky with classic ’80s jams at Club Chill.
ShwiKus is ditching the cabin for a few hours as Fikus and Shwizz take the stage back to back before joining forces at Club Chill. Collaboration at 5:00 pm-6:15 pm Saturday.

6. American Babies

Lead by Tommy Hamilton, this longstanding jam band has an indie type feel that is as different as different can be. Hamilton has been on fire as usual, playing with JRAD, Billy and the Kids, American Babies and Electron (whom you also can’t miss Sunday) and is a true talent you have to see live.
American Babies take the B stage from 4:45 pm-5:55 pm Saturday as the perfect buffer between The Motet and Dopapod on the Main Stage.

5. Chillfam All-Stars Herbie Hancock Tribute

This Vermont-based quartet is a Chillfam veteran that is going global. Playing their fourth Chill, the usual daytime favorite got the time slot we have all been waiting for, as they finish off the Main Stage Saturday night.
Twiddle follows headliner moe. on the Main Stage Saturday night from 2:30 am-4:oo am.

Frank Zappa’s eldest son Dweezil Zappa and friends pay tribute to his late father, Frank Zappa. Enough said.
Catch this historic set at 8:00 pm-10:00 pm on the Main Stage Saturday before Moe.

2.  Particle & Fam

Particle, the only band to play all six Catskill Chills, is always a fan favorite. Deep bass, shredding guitar, & Fam (meaning a plentiful amount of sit-ins) makes for a perfect send-off to close Catskill Chill at Camp Minglewood for good.
Particle & Fam hits the Main Stage at Midnight Sunday to close the page on Camp Minglewood in great fashion.

1. Dopakuaz Plays Studio 54

Two bands that are truly on fire this past year are joining forces for what should be the biggest dance party of the weekend. Members of Dopapod and Turkuaz team up to bring the disco to the Catskill Chill. The late night main stage act is sure to please as Dopapod keyboardist Eli Wilderman ensured in an earlier interview the set is sure to be adorned with costumes.
This insane set will have you dancing at 2:30 am Friday Night on the Main Stage.
