Teddy Midnight Drops ‘Turkish Silva’ Video & Announces Release of Debut LP ‘Velvet Blue’

By now, it’s safe to say you’ve heard us sing praises of Teddy Midnight being the jam band you need to keep your eyes and ears open for; don’t expect that to stop any time soon. In the midst of expansive touring of festivals and smaller venues and opening for some of the best in the business such as like The New Deal, STS9, Lotus, and Twiddle, the band has put together two very exciting gifts for their fans: a debut LP and a video for one of their most memorable songs.

Available on SoundCloud September 7th, Velvet Blue is a savory balance of electronic beats and jamband sensibilities glued together by spacious, primordial vibrations. Their nimble yet tectonic movements make booties shake and fingers snap all the same. In advance of their debut studio LP Velvet Blue, Teddy Midnight is excited to announce the premiere of their video for lead single “Turkish Silva,” available on YouTube September 6 (today!).

Produced by Sobokeh Exports and directed by Wiley Griffin & Kristina Rusch, the video was conceived by guitarist Wiley Griffin and portrays two days in the life of the tribulations of sex, romance, and partying on the notoriously superdramatic BK dating/Tinder scene. Regarding his inspiration, Griffin is quoted, “I wanted to capture a couple of concepts that I observed about the nature of life and love in our youth. One of them was the familiarity of daily life and how it can often feel like a recurring dream. The other was the vulnerability we all experience in our relationships. I felt the song itself presented a great narrative for a common story we’ve all experienced: trust leading to betrayal, and then the process of starting all over again and finding, hopefully, different results.”

Teddy Midnight is pleased to be hosting a record release party for Velvet Blue at BRYAC in Bridgeport CT on October 1. You can also catch them at Great North Music Festival and Local Legends Festival to close out the festie season.
