Sunset Music Festival Brings Sound, Fury, and a Lot of Bass to Tampa Bay

Sunset Music Festival is back with a two-day jam-packed electronic music event at Tampa’s Raymond James Stadium this Memorial Day weekend for its seventh consecutive year. Presented by Disco Donnie, the lineup includes over 50 acts on three stages for two days of non-stop dancing and celebrating by one of Florida’s foremost electronic music festivals.

Headliners include Marshmello and Excision, while Illenium and Rezz have been added to replace the dropped-out previous headliners The Chain Smokers. Music starts both days at 3 pm and lasts until midnight in the stadium’s North Lot. With a more robust setlist of genres and a focus on female artists, along with their renowned top-tier headliners, SMF18 is set to be an even more massive event than ever before.

A focus on safety also cannot be ignored, and the promotors have set up a compendium of resources for attendees to use in order to stay hydrated and secure in this massive dance environment. Tens of thousands of fans are anticipated to be in attendance, and given past performances with the projected headliners, this year is surely to supersede expectations. Last year saw an increase of arrests with their instating of a zero-tolerance policy, which thankfully saw a reciprocal decrease of attendees needing medical assistance.

Florida is renowned for its elaborate EDM festivals despite a considerably hostile environment, given the heat and humidity in the summer months. Disco Donnie Presents has a solid reputation for putting on elaborate, star-studded events. That, with the added first-aid and security measures in place, makes Sunset Music Festival a welcome addition to the Florida festival scene.
