Taylor Swift Opens Up to Her Fans and Expresses Heartfelt Appreciation at Miami Hard Rock Stadium

Taylor Swift fans are truly special. In fact, they have their own name. They don’t sit quietly and listen; they jump out of their seats, scream, dance and move to every lyric by their idol. They came prepared to show their devotion for the pop icon; they dress, style their hair, and talk like Taylor. They want to be Tay Tay, as she is often referred to by her closest fans. They don’t mind breaking their piggy bands or cashing in their savings for a chance to see Taylor Swift live in concert.

If you think that this was just an ordinary concert, perhaps you weren’t there on Saturday night. Taylor Swift’s reputation tour rolled into Miami with its stadium-only tour that can only be described as a truly magical experience where two entirely different worlds of music and Disney-like magic collided and transformed Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium into a place that delivered some special surprises, including flames and fireworks, several outfit changes, and larger-than-life snakes that were peppered throughout the venue.

They came to see the Princess of Nashville, Taylor Alison Swift.

With over 60,000 “Swifties” in attendance who danced and sang along with Taylor from the first note to the final curtain call, her obsessive fans showed up wearing homemade t-shirts showing her cats, snake-themed costumes, and photos of a young country star.

It’s not hard to see that her fans are truly loyal and follow her every move. The screams, tears and bursts of emotion set the tone for a night of sentiment that was truly heartfelt. Taylor Swift didn’t disappoint; she gave the mostly young audience exactly what they came for — her heart.

What was clear was that her fans are willing to go wherever she plays. There were twin girls from Japan who flew into Miami just to sit in the first ten rows to experience this larger-than-life singer. Fans from Mexico, Colombia, and nearly every city in South Florida came to experience a production that needed 26 semi trucks to deliver the stage and lighting.

The once-shy country star has become a global brand that sells out entire stadiums in advance of most shows. At Hard Rock Stadium it was nearly impossible to find an empty seat, and if they didn’t have a ticket already, fans paid whatever the highly inflated aftermarket price was to attend this mega show.

You must look good when you attend a Taylor Swift show, and there was plenty of bling on hand. Swifties coming through the gates received an added accessory: a bracelet that produced blinking lights that was synched to every beat that Taylor’s band played. The sea of bright lights along with exploding fireworks created a concert experience like no other and left the many young Swifties in attendance in a state of amazement.

When Taylor Swift finally took the stage approximately 45 minutes later than her scheduled start time, she opened the show with “Ready For It” from the Reputation album, which is Swift’s sixth studio album, released last November. With a full band and over 20 dancers supporting her performance, she played fan favorites “Shake It Off” and “Call It What You Want.” The concert consisted of 19 of her very best songs, and to the dismay of everyone in the stadium, we had reached the final song of the night, “We are Never Getting Back Together.”

Taylor Swift smiled one last time as the night came to a close. Swifties called out their final shouts as Taylor waved, thanked them for coming and gave the feeling that she was talking directly to each person individually; the connection and adoration by her fans will carry over until the pop icon returns.
